Front Range Modern Quilt Guild is an open group of individuals pursuing the art of quilting in modern times. We have members from all up and down the Front Range region of Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming, plus others that live all over the United States.
The Adventure Block Swap originally began when the guild was founded in 2011. We wanted to create a swap in the guild that acted like a bee swap but with some features of a round robin swap. What we came up with was a swap where each participant chose their block design [like in a bee] and then made the block of another participant each month [like a round robin].
As our community grew online and in person, the swap has come and gone depending on the number of members. For an effective, fun swap we need 12 members to participate, with hopefully no more then two needing to bow out over the course of the year.
There have been finished quilts in the past made of just Adventure Block Swap blocks and we hope to see more in the future from the participants in this year's swap.
